A Pastoral Interlude | In light of love | 1 John 2: 12-14 | Ep.6
Life can often feel like a pressure cooker, leaving us discouraged and wondering whether we’re really making progress in the Christian life. But in 1 John 2:12–14, John pauses the challenge to remind believers of what is already true because of Christ: your sins are forgiven, you know the Father, and you have overcome the evil one. John’s aim isn’t to burden us with more effort, but to anchor us in the identity that is already ours through Christ. When we forget who we are in Christ, we lose heart; when we remember His grace, we regain strength for the road ahead. So before pressing on, John calls us to breathe deeply in the assurance of the gospel and walk forward with renewed confidence.
