Elder

Lennie grew up in the south of Johannesburg. This is where he attended school, which was where he met his wife. After school, he travelled overseas while playing cricket for Richmond in London. A job opportunity came his way in the financial markets after returning home. He enjoyed a career as a derivatives trader for 19 years with Nedbank and Merrill Lynch. He currently runs his own business.

Lennie enjoys testifying about how Christ pursued him through his wife’s faithfulness to attend church and Wednesday bible studies. Lennie gave his life to the Lord in 2007 and was baptized in 2010. He joined BBC in 2014 and became actively involved in the welcoming, Hands-on coordination and prayer teams. He completed the inaugural Grow course in 2015 and led a Grow cohort for three years after. He has also been leading a GC in his home since 2015.

Lennie enjoys the outdoors in all facets of exercise and relaxation. He is a keen runner and does the odd mountain bike race. Before having children, he was an active golfer, but now his perfect Saturday is watching his son play sport in the morning, followed by a braai in the afternoon, while watching rugby with family and friends.
