I have spent 6 days in the paediatric ward so far . I am not new to this ward and everytime I am here I have the opportunity to reflect on myself, our family, our church and our city. I thought I might share my reflections with you.
King’s Kids is a group that meets on Sunday mornings from 10h15 to 11h45 for all our special needs children. Through King’s Kids we aim to love and support the parents with special needs children and to nurture and care for each child. Our approach is unique for each child and is based on the needs and abilities of the individual. We have a team of volunteers who care for this group of children on a one on one basis and the most wonderful care giver who we employ to work with the children for the morning. King’s Kids is held in our Kid’s Church facility and the King’s Kids children participate in as much of the Kid’s Church programme as they can manage. Special needs children may start King’s Kids at any time, but parents are requested to fill in a brief information card on their child before they leave to enable the team to care for them properly. Our heart in serving these precious children is that we would be the hands and feet of Jesus to these children and their families
